New Hillview Branch Library, adjacent to Fischer Middle School and Renaissance Academy, will open its doors on January 20, 2006. The new 21,035 sq. ft. library is significantly larger than the old library, offering more space for seating, collections and computers. A new unique area of the library will be the Family Learning Center where families and individuals can make strides in personal growth and learning. Materials and programs in the Center focus on English language and literacy skills for people of all ages, Citizenship, Job Skills and other areas based on community needs. The new Tech Center will make possible programs such as Bilingual Internet Instruction classes, and email for seniors. Programs supporting early childhood development such as story times and parenting classes will be available.
